Selling your LPs, CDs, DVDs, 45s and tapes
We no longer buy VHS tapes. When we purchase items we check condition and desirability of title. (2) Condition: this is extremely important in the value of an item. A“collectible” item will only have significant value if it is in mint or near mint condition.
We buy CDs depending on condition, demand and original selling price. We pay much less for scratched CDs and usually try to avoid buying them at all. If the CD is an expensive title new we will pay more for it if it’s still in good shape. CDs must come with all original artwork/cases. If it’s an older CD and has not been remastered we pay less. If it is an import disc that is now available domestically we will base our price on the domestic price.
We only buy LPs that are in good playing condition. An LP could be $5 in great condition but less than a quarter if it has visible scratches on it. The condition of the cover counts too!
