Radiohead “A Moon Shaped Pool” Listening Party 6/17/16

June 13, 2016

Starting at noon on Friday June 17, we will be broadcasting a record store exclusive audio stream of music curated by Radiohead as well as a very special 2 hour live set of performances from their latest tour!

In addition, we will have a limited amount of artwork and posters to give away.  You also will have the opportunity to enter a free prize drawing exclusive to participating stores, no purchase required!

Prizes include:

1st Prize – One winner will receive a selection of unique figurines used in the making of the Radiohead video “Burn The Witch” directed by Chris Hopewell

2nd Prize – Two winners will each receive a limited edition screenprint of Stanley Donwood artwork from his “A Moon Shaped Pool” series.

3rd Prize – Three winners will each receive a 35mm celluloid print of the Paul Thomas Anderson directed video “Daydreaming” in a film canister

Record Store Day 2016 Wrap-Up

Thank you for making Record Store Day 2016 so great! We loved seeing so many familiar and new faces! We truly appreciate your choice to shop local and your commitment to music in all its forms!

And, a very big thanks to Butch Vig, Steve Marker, and filmmaker Wendy Schneider! It was an honor to host The Smart Studios Story meet and greet and give away so many of those excellent cassettes. MadCity Music Welcomes the Official Film of RSD 2016!

The Smart Studios Story is the OFFICIAL FILM of RECORD STORE DAY 2016.

…And, MadCity Music Exchange is proud to welcome Butch Vig and Steve Marker to celebrate on Record Store Day, April 16! Butch and Steve will be hanging out in the afternoon and giving away a promotional cassette created just for Record Store Day.  The cassette, a collaboration with Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, captures over a dozen early, independent songs recorded at Smart Studios in the 1980s.  MadCity will be one of only two stores in the country where Butch and Steve will be personally handing out the cassettes! Available while they last, but they won’t last long!
